Robert Richardson collection.

The collection consists of materials of State Senator Robert Richardson of Michigan, and is arranged in two series. The first series, legislation (1971-72), contains various House and Senate bills and joint resolutions. Correspondence and reports are filed with their respective bill. The second series, subject files (1969-73), contains correspondence, reports, and meeting minutes. Much of this series relates to court funding, probate codes, judicial election and tenure.

Robert Richardson, born Apr. 20, 1926, resides in Saginaw, Mich. In 1950, he graduated from the University of Michigan, where he received his LLLB in 1951. In 1952, he was elected a Circuit Court Commissioner. From 1953 to 1956, he acted as administrative assistant to Congressman Alvin Bently. Richardson was an assistant U.S. attorney from 1957-1958, and a prosecuting attorney (Saginaw County) from 1959-1963.
